Troy Set for SBC Semifinal Versus UT Arlington

NEW ORLEANS – The Troy women's basketball will look for a fitting encore after a 33-point quarterfinal victory on Thursday which featured 86 rebounds, second-most in NCAA single-game history, as the Trojans take on UT Arlington in the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Lakefront Arena.

Third-seeded Troy (20-10) defeated No. 11 Arkansas State, 105-72, behind 25 points and 22 rebounds from All-Sun Belt First Team selection Caitlyn Ramirez to advance in the tournament. The Trojans eclipsed the 100-point plateau for the first time ever in the Sun Belt Tournament. With the win, the Trojans have now won four straight game in the league's tournament.

No. 2 UT Arlington (22-7) knocked off No. 10 South Alabama to move on in the tournament. Troy and UTA split the regular season series with each team winning its home match.

Fulton Alley (600 Fulton St., New Orleans, LA) will serve as headquarters for all Troy games (men's and women's). On Saturday, fans are invited to gather from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and ride the free shuttle to Lakefront Arena for the men's game at 2 p.m. The shuttle will return to send off the women's team at the squad's hotel (Royal Saint Charles) before departing to the arena at 6 p.m.

• In the team's quarterfinal win over Arkansas State on Thursday, the Trojans recorded 86 rebounds, tied for second-most in NCAA history. Caitlyn Ramirez hauled in 22, which set new Troy Division I and Sun Belt Conference Tournament records.

• Of the team's 86 rebounds, 45 were on the offensive side leading to 43 second chance points. Troy leads the nation averaging 20 offensive rebounds per game.

• Caitlyn Ramirez leads the conference and is 20th in the NCAA with 10.4 rebounds per game. She was named All-Sun Belt First Team on Monday. She has 313 rebounds on the season, which is second-most in Troy's Division I history and is 31 shy of breaking the school's single-season mark set by Ronita Garrett in 2014-15.

• In the SBC quarterfinal, Troy eclipsed 100 points for the fourth time this season and the first time ever in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

• Averaging 82.9 points per game, Troy ranks 8th in scoring in the NCAA. The Trojans would be the first Sun Belt team to average over 82.0 points per game since Louisiana Tech's 1999-2000 Elite 8 team averaged 87.1 per game.
