Troy Set for SBC Semifinal Versus UT Arlington

NEW ORLEANS – The Troy women's basketball will look for a fitting encore after a 33-point quarterfinal victory on Thursday which featured 86 rebounds, second-most in NCAA single-game history, as the Trojans take on UT Arlington in the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Lakefront Arena.

Third-seeded Troy (20-10) defeated No. 11 Arkansas State, 105-72, behind 25 points and 22 rebounds from All-Sun Belt First Team selection Caitlyn Ramirez to advance in the tournament. The Trojans eclipsed the 100-point plateau for the first time ever in the Sun Belt Tournament. With the win, the Trojans have now won four straight game in the league's tournament.

No. 2 UT Arlington (22-7) knocked off No. 10 South Alabama to move on in the tournament. Troy and UTA split the regular season series with each team winning its home match.

Fulton Alley (600 Fulton St., New Orleans, LA) will serve as headquarters for all Troy games (men's and women's). On Saturday, fans are invited to gather from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and ride the free shuttle to Lakefront Arena for the men's game at 2 p.m. The shuttle will return to send off the women's team at the squad's hotel (Royal Saint Charles) before departing to the arena at 6 p.m.
