LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas – The Troy soccer team fell 2-0 to Little Rock on Sunday, but the cards fell in the team's favor as ULM and Texas State played to a 1-1 draw giving the Trojans the No. 8 seed in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament (Nov. 2-8; Foley, Ala.).
Â
Little Rock scored goals in the 36th and 50th minute to clinch the victory. Troy managed just three shots in the contest.
Â
Little Rock (11-6-1, 6-3-1) opened the scoring in the first half when Doro Greulich's shot from just outside the penalty area found the back of the net. Mikayla Uyokpeyi landed an insurance goal early in the second half when she received a pass at the top of the box and fired it home just inside the right right post.

"Going into the weekend, we were where any coach would want to be, we had control of our own destiny. Unfortunately, the two performances that we gave were not worthy of any sort of result," head coach Jason Hamilton said.
Â
"We knew coming into today that we would struggle to create opportunities, having three of your top attacking players out is not something you look forward to. The positive we will take from this is that we had eight freshman play in today's game which gave them crucial experience moving forward. We knew this year we were going to have a young team, then we had more injuries than usual and it made it very tough to have much success at all offensively."

UP NEXT
Troy (7-9-3, 3-5-2 SBC) will take on in-state rival and top-seeded South Alabama (12-5-1, 7-3) on Nov. 2 in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. The Trojans defeated USA, 1-0, in the regular season matchup between the schools on Oct. 7 in Mobile.
