TROY, Alabama – The Troy volleyball team will welcome a pair of NCAA Tournament teams to Trojan Arena on Friday and Saturday when it hosts the six-match Trojan Invitational.Â
Â
Troy will take on CSU Bakersfield, the 2014 WAC Champion, on Friday at 6 p.m. in the second of two matches on Friday. Then, on Saturday, the Trojans will play host to Alabama State, the 2014 SWAC Champion, at 12 p.m. before taking on ETSU at 2:30 p.m. Those matches are the middle two of four matches on Saturday.

A full tournament schedule is available at TroyTrojans.com. Live stats and live video for all six matches will also be available on TroyTrojans.com. For live updates throughout the weekend, follow @TroyTrojansVB on Twitter.
Â
Troy (2-2) is coming off of a five-set win over UAB on Tuesday night in the Trojans' home opener. Troy held UAB to a .064 attack percentage thanks to 17.0 total team blocks, a number that broke the school rally-scoring era record. Troy posted 5.0 of those blocks in the fifth set when it forced UAB into 10 attack errors with just two kills.
Â
On the season, Darby Griff is averaging 1.31 blocks per set to lead the Trojans. The senior also has a team-best .268 attack percentage after posting a .462 mark against the Blazers on Tuesday.Â
Â
Blair Winston led Troy with 13 kills against UAB and is also averaging a team-best 2.53 kills per set on the season.
Â
On the Troy backline, Ali Dowdall is averaging 5.69 digs per set, thanks in large part to a 30-dig performance against UAB.
Â
CSU Bakersfield (0-4) has lost four straight matches to start the season, including most recently a four-set loss at Sacramento State on Tuesday night. The Roadrunners went 16-15 last season but were hot late and won the WAC Tournament, making the first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history.
Â
Alabama State (1-2) defeated Savannah State last weekend, but prior to that win suffered losses to Kennesaw State and Jacksonville State. The Lady Hornets went 20-19 last season and won their second straight SWAC Tournament, advancing to the NCAA Tournament.
Â
ETSU (1-2) faced a tough opening weekend schedule, defeating LIU Brooklyn after losses to Virginia Tech and Washington State. The Buccaneers went 17-16 overall last season, but went 11-5 and finished third in the SoCon.
Â
Troy has never played CSU Bakersfield and is 2-0 all-time against ETSU with the last meeting coming in 2002.Â
Â
However, Troy and Alabama State have a long-standing series that Troy has dominated. Troy is 28-0 all-time against the Lady Hornets, including three-set sweeps in each of the last four seasons.
