Troy Opens Homestand on Tuesday

TROY, Alabama – The Troy volleyball team returns home on Tuesday to open a six-match homestand as Alabama A&M visits Trojan Arena for a 6 p.m. contest. Admission to all home Troy volleyball matches is FREE.

Troy (5-11) will be looking to snap a nine-match losing streak after a pair of weekend losses on a tough road trip at Little Rock and Arkansas State. Troy is 4-2 at home this season, including a 4-0 mark in non-conference play.
Blair Winston leads the Trojans offensively at 3.05 kills per set while Darby Griff leads the way with a .261 attack percentage. They lead a balanced Troy offense that features six players who average over 1.40 kills per set.
Defensively, Ali Dowdall ranks fifth in the Sun Belt with 4.72 digs per set. On the front line, Griff ranks third in the league with 1.08 blocks per set, leading a Troy team that averages 2.19 blocks per set to rank fourth in the Sun Belt.
Alabama A&M (2-15) is coming off of a weekend sweep of Mississippi Valley State in the Lady Bulldogs' first SWAC game of the season. That win snapped a 12-match losing streak for Alabama A&M.
Troy is 13-2 in its Division I history against Alabama A&M with 13 straight wins. Troy is 6-1 at home against the Lady Bulldogs, including a three-set sweep last season. Alabama A&M's only wins in the series came in 1993 and 1999.
