Troy Soccer Hosts Trojan Classic with Matches on Friday and Sunday

TROY, Alabama – The Troy soccer team will host the annual Trojan Classic beginning Friday at the Troy Soccer Complex and will face UT Martin at 7 p.m. The Trojans will wrap up tournament play on Sunday against Louisiana Tech at 3 p.m.

Troy (2-1) is coming off a 3-2 road win against Alabama State on Tuesday night. Brooke McKee scored the game-winning goal en route to a two-goal performance; both were firsts of her collegiate career.

Abby Reynolds has two goals on the young season; both came in the 2-0 season opener victory against Gardner-Webb, which pushed the Troy home-match win streak to 13.

The Trojans have taken 54 shots this season, which is 30 more than their opponents. Alissa Jones leads the way with 19 shots and one goal scored.

Mikki Lewis has started all three games for Troy and has nine saves and one shutout.

UT Martin (1-1) is led by Saphyr Coombs-James who has a team-high goals (2) and assists (1). Coombs-James has a .667 shot percentage and shot on goal percentage. MaKenzie Crawford has started both games in goal for the Skyhawks and has seven saves.

Louisiana Tech (2-0) won both its games this season, the first came on the road against ULM and the other was a 2-1 home win over Lamar. Mylene Roy-Ouellet leads the team with six points this season. She has three of the four goals the Bulldogs have scored.

South Alabama (2-0) will also participate in the tournament, but will not face the Trojans.
