NCAA Track & Field Eastern Prelims Get Under Way Friday

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Troy track and field's Corina Cox heads to the 2015 NCAA East Preliminary at the UNF at Hodges Stadium. Cox is set to compete in the discus throw on Friday at 12:30 CT.

Cox earned a No. 16 seed at regionals with a 52.56 personal record toss at the 2015 Sun Belt Conference Championship. The All-Sun Belt second team member will be one of 48 athletes competing on Thursday, with the top 12 advancing to the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Eugene, Ore.

Cox will get three attempts and will be throwing fifth in the third heat. Troy, UL Lafayette, ULM, Georgia State, Appalachian State and South Alabama will be representing the Sun Belt in the Eastern Regional.
