Troy Baseball Preps for Pair of Midweek Contests

TROY, Alabama – The Troy University baseball team returns home on Tuesday to take on in-state rival UAB at Riddle-Pace Field. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. and will air live on WTBF 94.7 FM with live video, audio and stats available on TroyTrojans.com. Troy will then hit the road to face Jacksonville State on Wednesday and will also be available of WTBF 970 AM.
The Trojans (7-8) were swept by UL Lafayette over the weekend and are looking to end a six-game skid. Troy knocked off the Blazers 7-2 in Birmingham in the only meeting between the schools last season.
Trevin Hall is riding a five-game hitting streak and leads the team with a .400 batting average and a .450 mark over the last 10 games. David Hall is swinging the bat at a .368 clip over the last five contests and paces the squad with 12 RBIs on the year.
UAB (9-4) lost two of three games to Kennesaw State on the road over the weekend. The Blazers shortstop Adam Smith has turned in a solid season offensively so far this season; he's batting .367 with nine RBIs.
Jacksonville State (6-6) was swept by SIU Edwardsville over the weekend. Paschal Petrongolo is enjoying a hot start, batting .413 with 10 RBIs and 11 runs scored. As a team, the Gamecocks are batting .281 for the season.
Troy trails the all-time series with UAB 23-24 but is 14-7 against the Blazers at Riddle-Pace Field. The Trojans hold a 81-54 advantage over Jacksonville State but fell in both games to the Gamecocks last season.
