Troy Baseball Ends Series With Loss to UL Lafayette

The Ragin' Cajuns scored four runs in the sixth and three in the seventh to pull away and sweep the series.
Troy (7-8, 0-3 Sun Belt) opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the first inning. Trevin Hall singled home Clay Holcomb before David Hall hit a sacrifice fly to plate Logan Hill and hand the Trojans a 2-0 advantage. Holcomb led off the game with a walk and has reached base in 29 of his last 31 games.
ULL scored a run in the second and took the lead with a pair of runs in the third. The Trojans responded to take a 4-3 lead on two RBI groundouts from Hill and Nick Masonia.
Things didn't go well for the Trojans after that as relievers Marc Skinner and Jeremy McGowan were tagged for seven runs in two combined innings.
Trevin Hall was the lone Trojan to finish the game with multiple hits as he was 2-for-4 on the day. AS a team, Troy struck out 13 times in the game and 40 times in the three games.
Troy will look to end its six-game losing streak on the road against UAB on Tuesday. The Trojans will also travel to face Jacksonville State on Wednesday.
