Trojans Travel to Face Alabama State

TROY, Ala. – The Troy University baseball team will travel to Montgomery to square off against Alabama State on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on WTBF 94.7 FM and streamed live on TroyTrojans.com.

Troy (7-4) finished last week with a 2-2 record, knocking off Samford on Tuesday before dropping two of three games to Southern Miss over the weekend. Alabama State (4-5) split a pair of games with The Citadel, falling Friday 9-8 before rebounding for a 15-14 victory on Saturday.

The Trojans are led offensively by Trevin Hall, who is batting .394 on the season and is 7-for-15 in his last five games. David Hall leads the team in hits with 15 and is batting .357 with nine RBIs. Troy will send left-hander Austin Crook to the mound. In his first career start, Crook tossed five scoreless innings against Samford. As a team, Troy leads the conference with a 1.90 team ERA.

Einar Muniz paces the Hornets at the plate with a .500 average and eight RBIs. Alabama State enters the game sporting a .314 team average with seven starters batting over .300. Right-hander Tyler Bender (0-1, 19.29) will get the start on the mound for hte Hornets.

Troy leads the all-time series against the Hornets 18-2 and took both games of the season series last year.
