Trojans Cruise Past UNCW

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – The Troy women's tennis team won its second straight match as it knocked off UNCW, 6-1, at the UNF Tennis Complex on Saturday.
Troy (2-2) started the match with Trang Huynh and Anja Cosovic moving to 4-0 this season at No. 1 doubles as the pair won, 6-4. Brooke Durden and Linnea Skymberg then clinched the opening point with a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
Jiayun Xue put Troy up 2-0 when she cruised at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-3, over UNCW's Alix Theodossiou. Troy then went up 3-0 when Margot De Haan won at No. 6, 6-1, 6-2.
UNCW (2-2) got its lone point with a win at No. 5 singles. Huynh then clinched the match for Troy with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Alyssa Ritchie at No. 2 singles. Ohta and Cosovic closed out the match with three-set wins. Ohta and is now 4-0 on the season in singles play while Cosovic is 3-1.
Complete results are below. The Trojans return to the court on Sunday when they take on North Florida at 10 a.m. CST.
