JACKSONVILLE, Florida – The Troy women's tennis team couldn't win its third straight match as North Florida beat the Trojans, 5-2, at the UNF Tennis Complex on Sunday.
Troy (2-3) saw Anja Cosovic and Trang Huynh remain perfect at No. 1 doubles this season as the pair beat Taylor Hollander and Marina Cunningham, 6-2. Huynh and Cosovic are now 5-0 on the season.
North Florida (2-2) however won at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to clinch the opening point.
Huynh tied the match with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Esther Zuniga at No. 2 singles, but the Ospreys took a 3-1 lead after wins at No. 5 and No. 1 singles. At No. 1 singles, Troy freshman Sanae Ohta lost for the first time this season as she fell to Hollander, 6-2, 6-4.
Cosovic put Troy back within one with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Cunningham at No. 3 singles. However, North Florida won a pair of three-set matches at No. 4 and No. 6, respectively, to take the 5-2 win.
Complete results are below. The Trojans return to the court next Sunday when they travel to take on No. 28 Auburn.
