Troy Blanks Previously Unbeaten Southern Miss

TROY, Alabama – In its first home match of the season, the Troy men's tennis team shutout previously unbeaten Southern Miss, 7-0, at the Lunsford Tennis Complex on Saturday.
Troy (5-3) has won four straight matches and now travels to take on No. 19 Ole Miss on Monday afternoon.
Against Southern Miss (3-1) Troy started the day with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Hassan Ndayishimye and Andy Lau won at No. 1, 6-2, while Pablo Moreno and Gabriel Dias won at No. 2, 7-5.
With the opening point in hand, Troy swept singles play to complete the shutout. The Trojans won four matches in straight sets, including Dias at No.1, Lau at No. 3, Daniel Bustamante at No. 4 and Giovani Samaha at No. 5.
Ndayishimye, the reigning Sun Belt Athlete of the Week, won his third three-set match of the season as he beat Wen-Po Tseng at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 4-6, 6-4. Ndayishimye is now 6-1 in singles play this season.
Moreno also won in three sets as he beat Daniel Merker, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, at No. 6 singles. Complete results are below.
Troy and No. 19 Ole Miss will take to the courts at 3 p.m. on Monday at Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center.
