No. 41 Troy Seventh Following Two Rounds of Bayou City Collegiate Championship

HUMBLE, Texas – Paced by Jake Tucker's 1-under, the No. 41 Troy men's golf team shot a 4-over 292 in the second round of the Bayou City Collegiate Championship at the Golf Club of Houston. Second round play spanned both Friday and Saturday due to weather issues in the Houston area.
Tucker, who is tied for 21st, made the turn at 1-over after a pair of birdies around a bogey and double-bogey on the front nine. He finished strong with three birdies on the back nine to work around a bogey and finish his day with a 71.
Luke Moser moved to 1-under after back-to-back birdies on No. 12 and 13 after playing the front at 1-over par. However, he bogeyed the final two holes of the round to finish 1-over and tied for 41st place.
Tolver Dozier and Phillip Brennan both shot a 2-over 74 on Saturday and are tied for 18th and 28th, respectively. Dozier sank a pair of birdies around two bogeys on the back nine, while Brennan recovered from a 4-over front nine with two birdies on the back side of the course. Jared Bettcher is tied for 79th place after shooting a 4-over in the second round.
No. 9 South Carolina will carry a 10-stroke lead over Sam Houston State into the final round. The Trojans enter the final round just seven shots out of fourth place and just four back of No. 8 Baylor for fifth.
Sunday's final round will be a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m.
