Troy Travels to Florida for Three Matches

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida – The Troy men's tennis team will travel to Florida this weekend for three matches, beginning with a contest against Florida Gulf Coast on Friday at 10 a.m. CT at the City Island Tennis Center in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Troy will then travel to Stetson to take on the Hatters at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday at Mandy Stoll Tennis Center. The Trojans will then return to Daytona to take on Bethune-Cookman at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday.

Troy (5-4) are coming off of a narrow, 4-3, loss at No. 19 Ole Miss on Monday. The bottom of Troy's lineup performed well against the Rebels as the Trojans got wins out of the No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 spots in its lineup.

Gabriel Dais, who has played at No. 2 against Ole Miss and at No. 1 in all other matches, entered the ITA Men's National Singles Rankings this week and is now the 89^th-ranked singles player in the nation.

Hassan Ndayishimye, who played at No. 1 against Ole Miss, is now 6-2 on the season with his only losses coming at No. 19 Ole Miss and at No. 35 Florida State.

Florida Gulf Coast (5-1) has won five straight matches, including a road win over No. 71 Miami last weekend. The Eagles, who feature one ranked player in No. 107 Jordi Vives, suffered their only loss in their season opener to No. 35 Florida State.

Stetson (2-1) has won its last two matches and will take on Florida Atlantic on Saturday before hosting Troy on Saturday.

Bethune-Cookman (1-1) lost its last contest, falling at Stetson 5-2 last Wednesday. The Wildcats lone win of the season came against Warner.
