Troy Soccer Battles ULM and UL Lafayette on the Road

TROY, Alabama – The Troy soccer team will travel to Louisiana for a match against ULM on Friday at 3 p.m. and a match against UL Lafayette on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Troy (7-3, 0-1 Sun Belt) looks to bounce back after dropping a tough home match against South Alabama last Friday night in front of the largest crowd to ever attend a Sun Belt soccer match.
Chelsey Williams leads the Trojans with 10 points on the season, including four goals and two assists. Brooke McKee has nine points with three goals and three assists. Troy has 18 goals and assists this season, which amounts to 54 points.
The Troy defense has only allowed eight goals scored this year, which is the fewest allowed in the Sun Belt. Troy has a goals against average of 0.80, which marks them for second best in the conference.
The Trojans post a 3-1 record on the road and outscored their opponents 8-4. McKee has scored three of those goals, followed by Jones with two. Seven different Trojans have on assist in games played on the road.
ULM (6-6-1, 0-2 Sun Belt) is coming off two Sun Belt losses on the road at Georgia State and Georgia Southern. The Warhawks were outscored 4-0 in those two games combined. Karlea Fehr leads ULM with three goals and four assists this season.
UL Lafayette (7-4-1, 1-1 Sun Belt) is coming off a 3-1 loss at Georgia State on Sunday, but picked up its first Sun Belt win on Friday against Georgia Southern. The Ragin' Cajuns are lead by Annika Schmidt who has 14 points this season with six of UL Lafayette's 18 goals and two assists.
Troy leads the all-time series with ULM, 7-3, with three of the wins coming in Monroe. The Trojans have won seven in a row against the Warhawks.
Troy and UL Lafayette faced each other last season in Mobile, Ala., as part of the Sun Belt Tournament with Troy winning that contest, 1-0. The Trojans have won seven out of the last eight meetings between the two teams.
