Trojans Finish Strong at Green and Gold Invite

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alexus Cobbs earned second place in both the long jump and triple jump to lead the Troy women's track and field team in the Green and Gold Invitational on Saturday. The Trojans finished eighth as a team.

Cobbs soared 5.51 meters in the long jump for a personal record, while her 11.65-meter triple jump was a season best.

Samantha Smith set a personal record in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:40.93.

The Trojans saw impressive finishes in the field events, with Aleeah Stigarrl's 5.31-meter long jump was her best of the season. She finished fifth. Corina Cox's 12.78-meter shot put was sixth.

Riley Schwietz placed ninth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.36 seconds. Sara Zylstra earned a seventh-place finish in the mile run clocking in at 5:31.65.

The Trojans are in the Middle Tennessee Invitational in Murfreesboro, Tenn., on February 7.
