Trojans Split in Dallas

DALLAS, Texas – The Troy men's tennis team split a pair of matches at the SMU Tennis Complex on Saturday. The Trojans fell to homestanding SMU in the morning, 5-2, but rebounded to beat Abilene Christian in a neutral court match, 5-2, in the evening.
Hassan Ndayishimye had a perfect day for Troy (2-3), winning both of his singles and doubles matches. Giovani Samaha also won both of his singles matches. The pair were the only winners against SMU (1-0), but Troy rebounded well against Abilene Christian (0-1).
For the first time this season, Troy won the doubles point when it won at No. 1 and No. 2 against ACU. Samaha and Pablo Moreno cruised at No. 1 on their way to a 6-1 win. Andy Lau and Ndayishimye then won at No. 2, 6-2. The pair also won against SMU.
In singles play against the Wildcats, Ndayishimye moved up to No. 1 singles and won in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2. That after winning at No. 2 singles against SMU.
Lau won at No. 2 singles against ACU, 6-1, 7-6, while Samaha also won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 4 singles. Cyprian Owczarz picked up Troy's final win against Abilene Christian as he won in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 5 singles.
Complete results are below. The Trojans return to the court on Sunday when they travel to take on Sun Belt opponent UT Arlington at 11 a.m.
