Sun Belt Announces Basketball Television Schedule

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – The Sun Belt Conference announced five men's and women's basketball conference doubleheaders selected to be carried by ESPN3, including Troy's Thursday, January 29 contests against ULM at Trojan Arena. In addition to the ESPN3 schedule, the Sun Belt announced the dates for two "wild card" men's basketball games to be televised on ESPN2.

The first ESPN2 telecast will be on Saturday, February 7, a date in which Troy travels to Appalachian State. The second ESPN2 telecast will be on Saturday, February 14, a date in which Troy hosts defensing Sun Belt champion UL Lafayette. Games will be selected at least 21 days in advance.

Last season Troy hosted Georgia State in an ESPN2 contest, the first nationally televised game inside Trojan Arena. The Panthers entered the contest 10-0 in Sun Belt play with a 14-game winning streak before the Trojans knocked them off, 85-81.

The January 29 doubleheader against ULM will begin with the women's game at 5:15 p.m. The ESPN3 telecast will mark the fourth televised home game for the Troy women since Trojan Arena opened in 2012-13. In that same span, the Trojans have played in six televised games overall.

The men's game will follow at 7:30 p.m. and will be the sixth televised home game for the Troy men since Trojan Arena opened. In that same span, the Trojans have played in 12 televised games overall.

The league also announced that every game of the 2015 Sun Belt Conference Championships will be on the ESPN Network. The men's championship game will air on ESPN2 on Sunday, March 15 at 12 p.m. All other games from both the women's and men's championship tournaments will be nationally carried by ESPN3.
