Men's Golf Heads to Jack Nicklaus Invitational

TROY, Alabama – Coming off a solid finish in its season opener, the Troy men's golf team heads to Columbus, Ohio, for the prestigious Jack Nicklaus Invitational this weekend hosted by Ohio State on the par 71, 7,455-yard Scarlet Course at The Ohio State University Golf Club.
The Trojans took fourth at The Invitational at Kiawah two weeks ago led by sophomore Jared Bettcher's third-place individual finish. Bettcher shot 5-under for the tournament, while Tolver Dozier and Luke Moser tied for 25th place following an 8-over tournament. Phillip Brennan and Jake Tucker will comprise the rest of the field for the Trojans at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational.
Troy enters the tournament ranked No. 48 in the latest Golfweek rankings, the field includes a trio of teams ranked in Golfweek's top-50 – No. 28 Ohio State, No. 46 Purdue, No. 50 GRU Augusta. The remainder of the field consists of Pepperdine, Northern Illinois, Middle Tennessee, Miami (Ohio), Kent State, Kansas State, East Tennessee State and Tulsa.
The teams will play 36 holes on Sunday with a shotgun start for both rounds beginning at 7:45 a.m. Monday's final round will get underway at 7 a.m. on the No. 1 and No. 10 tees.
