Trojans Compete at Mountain Dew Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Troy University cross country teams competed at the 2014 Mountain Dew Invitational hosted by the University of Florida on Saturday.

The men's 8k competition started the day's events held at the University of Florida's Golf Course.
Â
Freshman Dylan Ogburn brought in the top finish for the men's team, placing 48th with a time of 27:00.70. Joe Giese and Tim Bulger finished right behind Ogburn with times of 27:17.42 and 27:29.99, respectively.

Sophomore Mikayla Hodges had the best time for the women's team, finishing the 5k race in 18:20.52 for a 30th place finish, a new personal best.
Â
Julia Ostendorf finished the women's race with a time of 18:55.62, while Samantha Smith completed with a time of 19:15.36.
Â
Troy's men finished 8th overall, and the women placed 11th.
Â
The Trojans will have a week off to continue training before heading to Jacksonville State University on October 4th for their next meet.
