TROY, Ala. – Troy University has hired Stephanie Demake as assistant women's soccer coach, head coach Jason Hamilton announced on Monday. Demake has over six years of coaching and operational experience and most recently served as assistant coach at Stetson University last season.
Â
Prior to her time with the Hatters, Demake served as assistant coach at Ohio University during the 2012-13 season. With both Stetson and Ohio, Demake was responsible for assisting in the planning, organization, and implementation of in-season and out-of-season training sessions, as well as student-athlete recruitment.
Â
"I am excited to have Stephanie on our staff. She is a proven coach and brings many good qualities to our program," Hamilton said. "Stephanie is a hard worker and dedicated coach, I feel that she will make an immediate impact on our program."
Â
Prior to her time at Ohio, Demake was an assistant coach at Wheaton College in Massachusetts from 2010-12. With Demake on staff, the Lyons advanced to the NCAA Tournament Second Round in both 2010 and 2011.
Â
Demake got her start in coaching with the New England Futbol Club, helping to develop youth players aged six to 14 beginning in 2009. She worked with the club program until 2012, when she took the position at Ohio.
Â
A graduate and three-year student-athlete of Worcester State University, Demake earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2010. A captain as a senior, she earned MASCAC All-Conference honors twice and led the Lancers to the MASCAC Championship and the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in 2007.
Â
Demake played at the University of Hartford during her freshman campaign, helping to lead the Hawks to an America East Championship in 2006.
Â
Demake holds both a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Diploma and an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, as well as a Master of Science degree in Coaching Education, from Ohio University.Â
