Stephanie Demake enters her third season as assistant coach with the women’s soccer program at Troy University.
Demake came to Troy after serving as an assistant coach at Stetson University in 2013.
Building on the historic success of his first season, the Trojans again rewrote the program's record book in 2015 setting numerous individual and team records en route to a 14-4-2, 6-2-1 season. Defensively, Troy posted a program- and Sun Belt Conference-best 0.63 goals against average and registered 10 shutouts.
After having cracked the RPI Top 200 just twice in program history, the Trojans posted back-to-back seasons (2014, 2015) in the Top 100, finishing No. 73 and No. 61, respectively. The squad has flourished in the classroom as well receiving the NCSAA Team Academic Award in each of Hamilton's first two seasons.
In 2014, her first season with the Trojans, Demake helped lead Troy to its first ever win in the Sun Belt Conference tournament and the squad’s first appearance in the conference tournament championship game.
Troy set a school record with 16 victories in 2014 and set or tied 29 team records. Five Trojans were named All-Sun Belt with three earning first team honors.
Prior to her time with the Hatters, Demake served as assistant coach at Ohio University during the 2012-13 season. With both Stetson and Ohio, Demake was responsible for assisting in the planning, organization and implementation of in-season and out-of-season training sessions, as well as student-athlete recruitment.
Before joining Ohio, Demake was an assistant coach at Wheaton College in Massachusetts from 2010-11. With Demake on staff, the Lyons advanced to the NCAA Tournament Second Round in both 2010 and 2011.
Demake got her start in coaching with the New England Futbol Club, helping to develop youth players aged six to 14 beginning in 2009. She worked with the club program until 2012, when she took the position at Ohio.
A graduate and three-year student-athlete of Worcester State University, Demake earned her bachelor’s degree in 2010. A captain as a senior, she earned MASCAC All-Conference honors twice and led the Lancers to the MASCAC Championship and the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in 2007.
Demake played at the University of Hartford during her freshman campaign, helping to lead the Hawks to an America East Championship in 2006.
Demake holds both a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Diploma and an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, as well as a master’s degree in coaching education from Ohio University.
