Brennan Tied for Lead at Old Waverly Collegiate Championship; Trojans Tied for 10th

WEST POINT, Miss. – Troy's Phillip Brennan is tied for the individual lead at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship as the teams are midway through the second round at the Old Waverly Golf Club. Heavy rains pushed the start of play back on Monday morning, which forced the second round to be suspended due to darkness.
Brennan shot a 2-under 70 in the opening round thanks to three birdies and just one bogey. His second round is two shots off his career-best round with one hole remaining when play resumes Tuesday morning. Brennan has six birdies during the second round and is currently 3-under. He is tied with Ole Miss' Blake Morris, who has three holes remaining in his second round.
Troy struggled as a team during the opening round and shot a 14-over 302, which put them towards the back of the 15-team field. However, led by Brennan's strong play the Trojans are currently 4-under during the second round and sit in a tie for 10th place – eight shots out of the top five.
Jake Tucker is tied for 25th place after shooting a 3-over in the opening round and a 1-under through 15 holes in the second round. Jared Bettcher rebounded from a rough first round where he shot a 6-over and is 2-under with three holes to play in the second round; he is currently tied for 35th.
Clayton Vannoy was 7-over in the opening round and is currently 2-over through 16 holes in the second round, while Tolver Dozier opened with an 8-over and is 2-over through 16 holes in the second round.
Ole Miss holds a four-shot lead over the field with the remainder of round two and then 18 more holes to play following that.
