Trojans Win Third Straight

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team won its third straight match on Friday, remaining perfect on its current homestand, with a 6-1 win over Alabama State at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
Troy (5-11) closes its four-match homestand tomorrow when South Alabama visits at 10 a.m. On Friday, Troy cruised to the opening doubles point, winning 8-1 at both No. 1 and No. 2.
The Trojans then went on to win the first five singles matches in straight sets before Alabama State (4-8) won at No. 6 in straight sets.
Included in Troy's wins was Mansingh Athare's fourth straight singles victory. Daniel Bustamante also won his fifth in the last six matches. Pablo Moreno and Gabriel Sciacca Dias each won their third straight singles match for the Trojans.
Following Saturday's home contest against South Alabama, the Trojans travel to Florida A&M on Sunday.
