Rodeo Competes at Southern Arkansas

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Troy men's and women's rodeo teams competed at the Southern Arkansas Rodeo this past weekend; the Trojan women finished in sixth place and the Trojan men tied for seventh.

Nelson Wyatt accounted for all of Troy's points on the men's side with a second-place finish in steer wrestling. He picked up 10 points with his first run of 7.1 seconds and scored 50 points with a run of 6.6 seconds on his second try. Wyatt's 13.7 average time earned him 50 points for total run of 110 points.

On the women's side, Morgan Sellars and Lanie Culligan both picked up points in goat tying. Sellars scored five points after runs of 8.8 and 9.0 seconds to finish in fifth place, while Culligan scored 10 points after a run of 8.2 seconds in the first round.

The Trojans return to action on April 3-5 at the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rodeo in Senatobia, Miss.
