Chanticleer Showdown Next up For Troy Softball

CONWAY, S.C. – Four games await the Troy softball team this weekend at the Chanticleer Showdown, hosted by Coastal Carolina. Troy will face Coastal Carolina, Fordham and Minnesota.

The Trojans (13-12-2) open up play against Coastal Carolina at 2:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon. They will take on Fordham and Minnesota on Saturday, and close against Minnesota on Sunday.
Last time out, Troy lost at Auburn, 13-5. The highlight of the day came in the third inning, as Troy pulled off a triple play. Becca Hartley got it started by catching a liner, tagged second and threw it over to first to complete the play.
Troy is led the season by reigning Sun Belt Player of the Week Ebony Wright. Wright is hitting .361 on the season. Michelle Phelps is having a solid first campaign with the Trojans, as she currently has four home runs and 23 RBIs, both leading the team.
Troy is 1-0 all-time against Fordham and Coastal Carolina. The Trojans have never faced Minnesota.
