TEXARKANA, Ark. – The Troy men's and women's rodeo teams were in action at the Cossatt Rodeo this past weekend and the women's team finished in fifth place and the men finished in a tie for seventh.
Kelsey Kennemer was responsible for all 90 points for the Trojan women as she took home a third-place finish in barrel racing. She recovered from a slow first run of 14.9 seconds before turning in the third fastest time in the second run with a mark of 14.81.
Nelson Wyatt was the lone Trojan on the men's team to score after he tied for fifth in steer wrestling after running a time of 6.1 seconds during his opening run; however he failed to score during his second round.
Both teams will return to action on April 3-5 when they travel to Senatobia, Miss., for a rodeo hosted by Northwest Mississippi Community College.
