Troy Wins Two Flights at Samford Fall Round Robin

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – The Troy women's tennis team concluded play at the Samford Fall Round Robin on Sunday with doubles play against Samford and singles play against South Alabama.Â

In doubles play, No. 50 Trang Huynh and Anja Cosovic completed a perfect weekend with a win over Samford's Stephanie N'Tcha and Carita Moolman, 8-6. The 3-0 weekend made Huynh and Cosovic the winners of the first doubles flight.

Huynh, the nation's 107th-ranked player, had a chance to win the first singles flight, but had to retire with an injury against South Alabama's Laura Valkova.Â

Sanae Ohta was the lone Trojan with a perfect singles weekend as she beat South Alabama's Emily Newton in three sets, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1. Ohta's perfect weekend gave her a win in the second singles flight.

Julia Mota Albuquerque was the other Trojans to win a singles match on Sunday as she knocked off Silvia Martinkova, 6-3, 6-4. Full results for all of Troy's matches from Sunday are below.

The Trojans return to the court next weekend when they travel to the Big Easy Tennis Classic.
