Troy Continues Play at Samford Fall Round Robin

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – The Troy women's tennis team continued play at the Samford Fall Round Robin on Saturday, taking on South Alabama in doubles play and UAB in singles play.
Troy won two of three doubles matches against its Sun Belt rival. Troy's Trang Huynh and Anja Cosovic, the 50th-ranked duo in the nation, defeated Laura Valkova and Emily Newtonm 8-6. Troy's second pair, Sanae Ohta and Linnea Skymberg, also won as they knocked off Mary Angela Martin and Cinta Papke, 8-6.
In singles play, No. 107 Huynh picked up her second win of the weekend for Troy as she won in three sets over Rachel Daniell, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. Ohta and Skymberg also picked up their second wins of the weekend. Ohta knocked off Elaine Simon, 6-1, 6-3. Skymberg beat Amy Lowther, 6-3, 6-3.
