Troy Finishes ITA Southern Regional

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – Junior Trang Huynh was the only Trojans in action on Sunday as the Troy women's tennis team wrapped up play at the USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships, hosted by Alabama.
Huynh lost her lone match of the day, falling in the round of 16 in the consolation singles draw. She lost to Tulane's Jacqui Katz, 6-3, 6-4. Huynh was in the round of 16 after winning two matches on Saturday.
The Trojans faired well in the tournament, especially true freshman Sanae Ohta who advanced to the round of 16 in the 88-player main singles draw. Ohta won two matches on Friday and one on Saturday before falling to Julia Jones of Ole Miss in the round of 16 on Saturday. Jones is playing in Monday's final.
Ohta and Huynh also advanced to the round of 16 in the doubles main draw for Troy.
The Trojans return to the court on Friday when they will travel to the Samford Fall Round Robin.
