Troy Picks Up Three Wins on Day Two at Southern Regional

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – The Troy women's tennis team picked up three wins on day two of the USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships host by Alabama on Saturday. True freshman Sanae Ohta saw her run in the singles draw come to an end while Tran Huynh won a couple of consolation matches.

Ohta, after winning two singles matches on Friday, won her first on Saturday in the third round against Alabama's Emily Zabor, 6-4, 6-1. The Tokyo native couldn't keep the run going in the round of 16, however, as she fell to No. 72 Julia Jones of Ole Miss, 6-1, 6-4.

Huynh, after falling in her first match on Friday, won twice in the consolation draw on Saturday. First, Huynh defeated Klara Skopac of Nicholls State, 6-0, 6-3. She then won over Stephanie N'Tcha of Samford who withdrew from the match.

Huynh and Ohta dropped their doubles match in the main draw round of 16 as they fell to Ole Miss' Mai El Kamash and Arianne Hartono, 8-2.

Olivian Brooke Durden and Linnea Skymberg were also in action for Troy on Saturday as they each fell in the singles consolation draw. Complete results are below.
