TROY, Ala. - After a week off from competition, the Troy track and field season continues in Nashville, Tenn. this weekend at the Tennessee State University Invitational.
"Our team's desire to compete will be tested this weekend," said head coach Jill Lancaster. "We are excited to build off the improvements we saw at Kentucky and move everyone forward."
The Trojans will meet 35 other teams at the Wilma Rudolph Indoor Track on Tennessee State's campus.
The all-day event will begin at 8 a.m. with the mile-run and pole vault, as well as 10 other field events, before the full schedule of running events starts off at 10:30 a.m.
The Trojans spent their break from competition training and setting preparations for continued success from their last performance at the Kentucky Invitational.
"Obviously we have weathered the snow storm which took a toll on our training days," Lancaster said. "At the end of the day you put on the Troy uniform to compete to the best of you ability."
During the Kentucky meet, several Trojans climbed the conference standings. Dallas Worthy finished the 400-meters with a time of 57.75 seconds, setting the fifth fastest time in the Sun Belt this season. Julia Ostendorf set a time of 10:31:36 in the 3k and sits inside the top-20 in the conference in the event.
