Trojans Head to Samford Multi

TROY, Ala. – A busy week lies ahead for the Troy University track and field team, as the Trojans will compete in two separate meets over the next three days, beginning with the Samford Stand Alone Multi Competition.
"This is a great opportunity for our athletes to gain some valuable experience in the multi-events," said head coach Jill Lancaster. "It also gives the coaches a chance to really focus on the athletes to help them improve."
Riley Schwietz, Aleaah Stigarl and Carley Wright will represent Troy at the Samford Stand Alone Multi Competition in Birmingham. The Trojans are looking to continue to improve their performances in the same venue as last week's UAB Blazer Invitational.
"We will be competing against some of the top athletes in the area, including several that have NCAA potential," Lancaster said. "Since it's only the multi-events, it gives our athletes a chance to really focus, without all of the other distractions that usually come with a meet."
Five of the Southeast Region's top teams will be present at the meet, including Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and South Alabama.
