Trojans Look to Rebound at UALR

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Troy women's basketball team concludes a Sun Belt road trip at UALR on Saturday. Tipoff at the Jack Stephens Center is set for 4:30 p.m.

Troy (4-10, 0-3) will be looking to snap a six-game losing streak after a 74-65 loss at Arkansas State on Wednesday. The Trojans led by nine points early in the second half, but soon after ASU got back into the game, Troy hit a cold stretch that was the difference in the game.

The Trojans didn't score for three minutes as Arkansas State turned a one-point lead into an eight-point advantage with 3:00 left that Troy couldn't recover from. Joanna Harden led the Trojans with 13 points, but saw her streak of four straight games with 20-plus points come to an end.

Harden is now averaging 24.0 points per game, the sixth best mark in the NCAA. The senior guard still leads the Sun Belt, nearly six points ahead of second place (18.1 ppg). She has score 20-plus in 10 of 14 games this season.

Harden leads a Troy offense that is averaging 81.9 points per game, the best mark in the Sun Belt, and 21st best in the nation. However, the Trojans will face their toughest task of the season on Saturday in Little Rock.

UALR (7-6, 2-1) leads the Sun Belt in scoring defense (54.7 ppg), field goal percentage defense (37.5) and 3-point field goal percentage (24.3).

UALR is coming off of a 62-41 win over South Alabama on Wednesday at home. The Trojans opened Sun Belt play with a loss at Texas State before rebounding for a road win at UT Arlington. UALR is glad to be back at home where it is 5-1 on the season.

Taylor Gault leads UALR in scoring, averaging 13.2 points per game.

Troy is 0-11 all-time against UALR, including an 0-5 mark at the Jack Stephens Center. Troy has never scored more than 52 points in a game against UALR, including in three meetings last season under head coach Chanda Rigby.
