Troy Set for Four Matches in Montgomery

MONTGMERY, Ala. – The Troy men's and women's tennis teams will each play two matches in Montgomery on Friday when they each take on Alabama State and Alabama A&M.
Both matches against Alabama State will begin at 9:00 a.m. while both matches against Alabama A&M will begin at 1:30 p.m. All four will be played at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.
The Troy men (3-6) come in having won two straight matches after defeating Nicholls State and Jacksonville State at home on Saturday and Tuesday, respectively.
The Trojans had a dramatic match with Jacksonville State, winning 4-2 in a match where singles were played first. The Trojans led 3-2 when a rain delay started, forcing to team to dry the courts in order to complete the match before JSU had to leave town.
The Troy women (7-4) have won three straight entering Friday's matches, with wins over Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State and Jacksonville State.
All of the Trojans losses have come against quality competition, including nationally-ranked teams in Florida State and Auburn.
Alabama State comes into Friday with a men's team (4-6) that has lost two straight and a women's team (2-8) that dropped their last match but won the previous two.
Alabama A&M comes into Friday with a men's team (0-5) that hasn't played since February 24 and a women's team (1-7) that has lost four straight.
