MOBILE, Ala. – Troy men's basketball (10-13, 5-7) now travels to Mobile, Ala., to face South Alabama (12-9, 9-4) on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. It will be the first of two meeting between the two in-state rivals this season.

The Trojans are fresh off a 19-point win over Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday. Troy got contributions from the entire team, with nine different Trojans scoring at least four points. Tevin Calhoun provided a spark off the bench, scoring a team-high 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting. Ray Chambers was the only other Trojans to score in double-figures, finishing with 10 points and six boards. Emil Jones is tops on the team at 10.9 points per game this season. The Trojan offense continues to improve, averaging 69 points per game over the past four games, after averaging fewer than 62 points per game over the first 19.
South Alabama enters the game having split a pair of games in Arkansas last weekend, defeating UALR on Saturday, 70-66. Augustine Rubit leads the Jaguars with 19.0 points and 10.8 rebounds per game this season, and is one of just two players from the Sun Belt to average a double-double this season.
Troy is 6-13 all-time against South Alabama, including three losses last season. South Alabama is currently in second in the Sun Belt East, and third overall in the conference. Troy is in sixth in the East, just one half game behind Florida Atlantic for fifth and one game behind Western Kentucky for fourth. The Trojans are eighth in the conference overall. These two teams have met in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in three of the last four seasons.
