LAFAYETTE, La. – The Troy volleyball team dropped a three-set match at Louisiana-Lafayette on Friday night, 3-0 (29-27, 25-16, 25-19). The loss earns the Trojans and Ragin' Cajuns a split of two regular season matches after Troy swept the Cajuns in Troy early in the season.

The loss is the fifth straight four Troy (9-17, 4-8) as the Trojans will look to rebound quickly with a match at ULM on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Other than a lopsided second set, Friday's match against the Cajuns was closer than the 3-0 score indicated. Troy had a set-point in the first set, up 26-25, before Louisiana-Lafayette (16-10, 6-6) scored four of five to take a 29-27 win.

After the Cajuns won the second set, 25-16, Troy rebounded, but with the third set tied at 14-14, the Cajuns scored eight of 10 to take a 22-16 lead that Troy couldn't overcome.

After posting a .324 team attack percentage in the first set, Troy hit just .182 for the entire match with .061 and .156 showings in the final two sets. Blair Winston led the way with a match-high 15 kills and a .290 attack percentage.

Alexandra Alexander, in addition to her 30 assists, led the Trojans with 10 digs. Marija Zelenovic led the way for Troy with four total blocks.

Louisiana-Lafayette hit .303 in the match as a team with Tonice White leading the way with 11 kills. Lavinia Tataran posted 10 kills for the Cajuns while Caitlyn Auxilien posted a match-high 13 digs.

Troy returns to the court on Saturday at ULM. The Warhawks were swept at UALR on Friday night.
