TROY, Ala. – It was another one goal affair for the Trojans, as Troy knocked off ULM, 1-0, on Thursday afternoon at the Troy Soccer Complex. Louise Cheng provided the game's only goal in the 14th minute.

"For us to come away in this game and get a result, sometimes you have to win a little ugly," said head coach Chris Bentley. "Our team performance wasn't as good as it can be. We did create chances, maybe we should've scored a few more goals. We needed to get a result today and we did."

Cheng picked up her second goal of the season on a cross by Cecilia Thorngren. Thorngren escaped the defender on the right side of the pitch and sent in the aerial cross to a streaking Cheng, who buried the header into the back of the net. With that assist, her third of the season, Thorngren tied the program record with 14 career assists.

The Trojans controlled the ball for much of the game, especially in the second half. Troy fired 15 shots on the day, testing the ULM goalkeeper from all afternoon.

Caitlin Buono held strong in her first start in nearly a month, picking up her second shutout of the season.

Troy now hits the road for its final game of the regular season, at Louisiana-Lafayette. The game kicks off on Sunday at 1 p.m.
