Troy Competes at UWA Rodeo Showdown

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Troy men's and women's rodeo team competed at the UWA Rodeo Showdown this past weekend at the University of West Alabama. The Trojan women finished in eighth place and the Trojan men took home ninth.
Nelson Wyatt finished in fifth place in calf roping with 60 points after turning in the best time of the first round with nine seconds flat. However, he did not record a time in the second round and finished with his 60 points from the first run.
Kesia Smith finished in sixth place in goat tying following times of 8.8 second and 10.8 seconds for a total of 55 points. Her run of 8.8 seconds was the third fastest of the opening round.
Next up for both teams in the Trojan Stampede on Nov. 21-23 at the Pike County Cattlemen's Association.
