Troy Volleyball Sweeps ULM

TROY, Ala. – The Troy volleyball team posted a season-high attack percentage and cruised to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-23) win over ULM at home on Sunday.
"We challenged our team after Friday's match with some specific goals for today," Troy head coach Sonny Kirkpatrick said. "All-in-all our team hit those goals. I'm really proud of way they played this weekend. It was a total team effort and we're looking forward to getting better going to Texas."
Troy (9-12. 4-3) posted a .296 attack percentage, its highest of the season, with 47 kills as a team, including three players posting double-figure kills. Marija Zelenovic led the way with 17 kills and just two errors for a .469 attack percentage.
Kiah Cheatham posted the top attack percentage in the match with a .588 mark thanks to 10 kills and no attack errors on 17 attempts. Blair Winston was also in double digits with 11 kills.
Alexandra Alexander posted 38 assists and 12 digs for a double-double while Courtney Cohen led the Trojans with 13 digs. Ali Dowdall was also in double figures with 10 digs.
Troy posted a match-high .368 attack percentage in the first set with 18 kills and cruised to a 25-17 win. The Trojans won by the same score in the second set, holding ULM to a -.050 attack percentage.
The third set was tight, with seven ties, and Troy seemed to on its way to a fourth set with ULM leading 22-20. After Kirkpatrick called a timeout, the Trojans responded with five of six points to take a 25-23 win and a Sun Belt sweep.
ULM (5-18, 1-6) was offensively by Hope Pawlik's eight kills while Marcela Araya posted a match-high 18 digs. Troy held the Warhawks to a .117 attack percentage and just 34 kills.
Troy returns to the court on Friday when they travel to take on Texas State at 6:30 p.m. Â
