TROY, Ala. – The Trojans (4-2-1) got back to their winning ways on Sunday, taking down the Stetson Hatters (1-4-0), 1-0, in the third game of the Trojan Classic at the Troy Soccer Complex.

Chelsey Williams picked up her third goal of the season in the eighth minute, converting from the penalty spot following a hand-ball by the Hatters in the box.

Williams, Payton Donley and Paige McMillan were all named to the all-tournament team following impressive performances on the weekend by each.

“We're pleased with getting the results on the weekend,” said head coach Chris Bentley. “But we need to move forward in certain key areas.”

Goalkeepers Maddie Winter and Katie Comeno-Lewis split time in net for the Trojans, making six total saves for the fourth Troy shutout of the season.

The defensive unit for the Trojans was stellar all day, allowing just six shots on goal, with most coming from long range.

The Trojans back in action on Friday, September 7, when they travel to North Carolina to take on Elon at the UNC Wilmington Invitational. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
