SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Troy soccer team (3-1-0) took down Wofford (1-1-0), 1-0, on Friday at Snyder Field on the campus of Wofford.
Troy scored the game's lone goal in the 49th minute, with Jane Latif firing in a powerful shot off the hands of the goalkeeper into the left side.
“We were not ourselves today, but found a way to get a result,” said head coach Chris Bentley. “We established ourselves a little more in the second half and put together some nice passages of play. Now we need to recover and shift our focus to Sunday.”
Maddie Winter made two saves on the day, picking up her third win of the season.
The Terriers had the majority of the opportunities in the first half, out-shooting the Trojans 7-1, including 2-0 in shots on goal.
Troy returns to the pitch on Sunday when they take on Furman in Greenville, S.C. at 12 p.m. To follow the Trojans with live stats and video, check out TroyTrojans.com.
