Trojans Close Regular Season on Saturday

TROY, Ala. – The Troy softball team looks to snap a four-game losing skid as it closes the regular season on Saturday at South Alabama. The Trojans and Jaguars will play a doubleheader at Jaguar Field beginning at 1:00 p.m.
The Trojans (31-20, 10-12) come into the contest sitting in fifth place in the Sun Belt standings, just a half game ahead of WKU who plays a doubleheader at Middle Tennessee on Saturday. As the Trojans prepare for next week's Sun Belt Championships, they can't get any higher than the fifth seed.
South Alabama took a March 28 contest between the two schools, 6-3, at the Troy Softball Complex. The Jaguars scored four runs in the final two innings of that contest to take a come-from-behind win. The win by the Jags evened the all-time series between Troy and South Alabama at 8-8.
Troy is 4-3 all-time against South Alabama at Jaguar Field in Mobile, and the Trojans are 7-4 all-time at Jaguar Field thanks to a 3-1 mark in the 2010 Sun Belt Championships. Troy advanced to the conference's title game that season.
South Alabama (33-15, 15-7) enters Saturday's contests having already wrapped up the second seed in the tournament thanks to a series win over FIU at home last weekend.
