Troy Hosts Alabama Tuesday in Mid-Week Baseball Action

TROY, Ala. – Troy returns to the friendly confines of Riddle-Pace Field Tuesday night to play host to Alabama for just the second time since 1999. First pitch between the Trojans and Crimson Tide is scheduled for 6 p.m.
Tuesday's game will be broadcast live on the Troy IMG Sports Network with local coverage on 94.7 FM and worldwide coverage on TroyTrojans.com or via the Tune-In Radio app on your smartphone by searching for WTBF-FM. Fans can also follow the action on TroyTrojans.com with live stats and live video coverage.
Fans can purchase tickets for the game in advance by visiting the Troy ticket office in the Tine Davis Fieldhouse or by calling 1-877-878-WINS. The ticket office at Riddle-Pace Field will open at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The Trojans enter the mid-week contest 9-9 on the season after opening Sun Belt Conference play by going 1-2 at South Alabama this past weekend. The Crimson Tide sits 8-12 on the young season and was swept at No. 4 Arkansas this past weekend in their Southeastern Conference opening series.
Junior right-hander Ryan Brady (0-1, 2.57) will make his first career start for Troy following a pair of successful relief appearances. Alabama will counter with freshman southpaw Jon Keller (0-0, 4.15) who will also be making his first career collegiate start.
Troy has won the last two meetings between the two schools at Riddle-Pace Field. The Trojans defeated the Crimson Tide 6-2 in 2009 and 8-4 in 1998; Alabama won last season's contest 6-5 in 11 innings and the schools have split the last six meetings.
Tyler Hannah continues to lead the Trojans at the plate batting at a .369 clip with five doubles and a .528 on-base percentage. Danny Collins and Boone Shear are tied for the team lead with 10 extra-base hits and Shear is second in the Sun Belt Conference with 26 RBIs.
The Trojans are batting .260 as a club and average 2.3 doubles and 6.8 runs per game. The Crimson Tide enters the mid-week tilt batting .247 as a team with 1.6 doubles and 4.9 runs per contest.
Ben Moore leads the Alabama everyday players batting .329 on the season with five doubles, a home run and nine RBIs. Taylor Dugas has a team-high .462 on-base percentage and seven doubles while Josh Rosecrans (.162 BA) leads the club with two home runs.
Troy has won two of its three mid-week games this season with victories over Samford (13-6) and East Carolina (8-2). Alabama is 3-2 during the mid-week with wins over South Alabama (4-3), Southern Mississippi (8-3) and Samford (6-5).
