Trojans Travel to Arkansas State

Troy, Ala. - Troy women's basketball hits the road again on Wednesday at 7pm when they travel to take on Arkansas State. The Trojans (2-21, 1-11 Sun Belt) have only three road games remaining before heading into the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

The Trojans enter Wednesday's matchup after suffering a 59-36 loss to WKU at Sartain Hall. Troy looks to rebound against an Arkansas State (10-15, 4-8) team that is coming off of a 57-50 road victory to Louisiana-Lafayette. The Red Wolves are on a two-game win streak on their home court after knocking off ULM and Louisiana-Lafayette earlier this season.

Junior Sophie Kleeman led her team in scoring for the fourth time this season with 11 points against WKU on Saturday. She continues to advance her name in the Troy record books this season. Kleeman currently ranks eighth in career assists with 210. She is tied with Heather Haney (1993-97), who previously held eighth place and is only 21 assists away from tying Amy Lewis (2004-08) who currently sits in 7th place with 231 assists. Kleeman is also only eight three-pointers away from tying Chandra Bradford (1999-00) who currently holds the seventh place in career three-pointers with 89; Kleeman has 81.

Senior Tenia Manuel continues to be a dual-threat for Troy this season. She leads the Trojans in rebounding averaging 7.1 rebounds per game. She also ranks right behind DeAngela Sword as Troy's second leading scorer with 7.9 points per game this season.

Troy will need to stop Arkansas State sophomore Jane Morrill who leads the Red Wolves in scoring, averaging 17 points per game. Morrill also currently leads Arkansas State in rebounding with 5.7 rebounds per game.

Troy is 3-5 all-time against the Red Wolves and 1-3 when playing Arkansas State on the road.
