Trojans Set for Sunday Home Match, Fall at Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Troy men's tennis team dropped its third match of the season to a ranked opponent on Saturday as they prepare to come home for a match on Sunday.

The Trojans (0-4) fell at No.47 Alabama on Saturday, 7-0, just two days after dropping a tough 4-3 decision to Samford at home.

Troy will now prep to take on Kennesaw State on Sunday at the Lunsford Tennis Complex at 1:00 p.m. The Troy women's tennis team will also take on Kennesaw State at the same time.

Troy fell behind early at Alabama (3-3) after being swept in the doubles point by the nationally ranked Crimson Tide. The Trojans were unable to break through in singles either, but Patrick Eichler got close at number five singles.

The sophomore took the first set from Alabama's David Vieyra, 6-7 (5-7) but was unable to break through as he fell in the second set, 6-1, and lost the super tie-breaker 10-7.
