Trojans Set to Face No.1 Florida

GAINSEVILLE, Fla. – The Troy women's tennis team continues it's very tough opening stretch of the season as it travels to take on Florida on Wednesday. The Trojans and Gators are set to begin at 1:00 p.m. CT.
After an opening weekend that featured No.46 Kansas State and No.7 Georgia, Troy now faces No.1 Florida on their home court. The Gators are the defending NCAA Champions and return all seven letterwinners from a season ago.
The Trojans will look to build on their opening weekend at the Bulldog Invitational where they fell to Georgia and Kansas State.
Olfa Dhaoui played well for the Trojans in the number two singles spot in Athens against two ranked opponents. The senior gave Georgia's Maho Kowase, the 22nd-ranked player in the country, all she could handle, but fell in a super-tiebreaker, 10-8.
Sophomore Lyubov Dorofeeva picked up the Trojans lone win on the weekend as she took down Kansas State's Market Trousilova in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.
The Trojans will face a tough task in Florida as the Gators feature five nationally ranked players in their lineup. That includes Allie Will and Joanna Mather who are ranked third and fourth in the nation, respectively.
Will combines with Sofie Oyen to make the 10th-ranked doubles team in the nation while Mather and her partner, Lauren Embree, are ranked 15th.
