Troy, Ala. – The Troy women's basketball team will closeout a three-game homestand Saturday when it hosts ULM at 5:15 p.m. in Sartain Hall.
Troy (1-16, 0-6 Sun Belt) enters Saturday's game looking to snap a six-game Sun Belt Conference losing streak after dropping a tough game Thursday night against Florida Atlantic. Sarah McAppion came off the bench to lead the Trojans in scoring against the Owls. The junior guard drained three 3-pointers en route to a 15-point performance in just 22 minutes of game action.
Senior DeAngela Sword has led Troy in scoring in 11 games this season and has recorded double-digit scoring in 14 of 17 contests. While she leads her team in scoring with 13.1 points per game, Sword displayed her versatility against the Owls. Sword led the Trojans on the boards with 10 rebounds, dished out four assists and added eight points.
Troy will need to slow down ULM (5-15, 3-4) senior Larrie Williams. Williams leads the Warhawks in scoring with 15.3 points per game and is the team's second leading rebounder with six rebounds a game. Marion Zollicoffer currently leads ULM in rebounding with 6.5 rebounds a game.
ULM leads the all-time series with Troy 8-3, but a Trojan victory on Saturday would even the series at two games each in Sartain Hall.
