TROY, Ala. (TroyTrojans.com) – The Troy University men's tennis team will close out the regular season on Saturday afternoon, hosting Georgia State University at 12 noon at the Lunsford Tennis Complex. Prior to the match, the Trojans will celebrate Senior Day on court one.
TROY (3-16) will honor their lone senior, Mario Rolemberg, prior to the match on Saturday. The senior helped lead the Trojans to their lone Sun Belt Conference Championship and a berth in the NCAA Regionals last season, while being named All-Conference in doubles.
The Trojans will be looking to end four-match winning streak on Saturday which dates back to the Sun Belt Shootout in Murfreesboro. The Trojans have played just two home matches this season, splitting them but winning their last home match against Florida A&M.
Sophomore Anas Rouchdi has energized the top of the lineup for the Trojans, moving to the top of the lineup seven matches ago. During that time, he has posted a 5-2 record at number one; which has allowed junior Branko Weber to move to number three – a position he played last season – where has posted a 4-2 record.
In doubles play, the team of Rolemberg and Weber has recorded a 6-6 record at number one doubles, while the newly formed team of Rouchdi and Mansingh Athare come in to the match on Saturday winners of their only match last week.
Admission is free for all home tennis matches at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
