Trojan Women Fall to Tulane

The Green Wave swept through all nine matches on Sunday

TROY, Ala. - The Troy University fell for the second time this weekend, losing to Conference USA foe Tulane University 7-0 at the Lunsford Tennis Complex Sunday afternoon.
Tulane won the doubles point, as the team of Emma Helsten and Lindsay Dvorak defeated Troy's Olfa Dhaoui and Rosaura Ramirez-Vega 8-3 at number two; while the team of Elizabeth Hamlin and Hila Elster defeated the Trojans' Lyubov Dorafeeva and Olivia Battye 8-3 at number three.
The number one team of Karoline Grymel and Leonie Guijt came up just a point short of forcing an extra game, and just two points shy of winning their match against Tulane's Mariam Kurdadze and Emma Levy; falling 8-6.
In singles play, the Green Wave swept Troy (2-8) as they took all six matches in straight sets.
At number one, Mariam Kurdadze defeated Troy's Karoline Grymel 7-5, 6-4; while at number two Olfa Dhaoui fell to Tulane's Emma Levy 6-0, 6-3. At number three, senior Leonie Guijt fell to Lindsay Dvorak 7-6 (10-8), 6-3.
Meanwhile, at number four, Lyubov Dorafeeva fell to Elizabeth Hamlin 6-2, 6-1; while Rosaura Ramirez-Vega fell to Tulane's Hila Elster 6-1, 6-3. In the final match, at number six, Olivia Battye fell to Tulane's Emma Helisten 6-1, 6-2.
The Trojans hit the road next week as they travel south to Florida to face competition from all over the country.
